Binghampton Development Corporation (BDC) was awarded a 15-year Community Builder PILOT to enable the organization to construct a 48,565 SF grocery-anchored commercial center located at the Southeast corner of Sam Cooper Boulevard and Tillman Street.
Across the next few years, a brand new $7 million retail center anchored by a national grocery store and home goods retailer will replace a once derelict and delinquent apartment complex situated on a busy urban corner in a USDA-classified food desert.
The Community Builder PILOT enabled the BDC to attract a national value grocer, national value household goods retailer, more than 7,000 SF fir additional retail space, and additional site development. The new development is a part of the BDC’s 10-year vision for the neighborhood.
